This website is run by me, Kai Karlstrom, as a private individual. I decide what is collected here and what happens to it.

Part of the platform page opens when you give your email address, or when you open a personal link I sent you.

If you use the form, I keep:

• your email address, and your name if you give it;
• the country your connection comes from, as reported by the hosting provider. Your IP address is not stored;
• your browser's user-agent string, and the address of the page you came from, without anything after a ?;
• when you first and last submitted the form, how many times, and the date of this notice.

If you open a personal link, it is already tied to the name I gave it when I made it. Each time it is used I record the time, the country and the type of client (a browser, an email security scanner or a link preview).

When you submit the form, Vercel's bot check runs in your browser to tell people from automated scripts. The email domain is also looked up in public DNS to check that it receives email.

To open the page for you, and so I know who has read it. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in knowing who reads a detailed write-up of my work, which you can weigh against the small amount of data involved.

There is no mailing list and no newsletter. Your details are not shared with anyone, not sold, and not used for advertising.

kk_platform keeps the platform page open for you: 180 days after the form, or until a personal link expires. It holds a signed reference, not your email address. Two short-lived cookies, kept for at most five minutes, carry a one-time message after you unlock the page or open a link. These are needed for something you asked for, so there is no consent banner for them.

Matomo, the visit statistics service below, is set to use no cookies.

• Vercel hosts the site. The form and the platform page run in its Frankfurt region.
• Neon hosts the database that holds the form and link records, in Frankfurt.
• Matomo Cloud counts visits to the pages of this site.
• Google Fonts serves the typefaces, so your browser connects to Google when a page loads.

Form and link records are deleted 24 months after your last visit.

You can ask to see what I hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, by emailing karlstrom.kai@gmail.com from the address you used. You can also object to the processing, and complain to the data protection authority where you live.
